Check Your Graduation
Please note, departments are always changing courses somewhat. In general, you should use the rules that were in place when you entered the program. In cases where the new rules are easier to follow, you can adopt those rules. If you have questions, be sure to talk to one of the program directors.
Honours
To help you plan your Honours program, make the following six lists of courses:
- Total courses (need 135 credits)
- Total courses that have Science credit (need 72 credits) (check the Calendar, e.g., can't include some GEOG, EOSC... courses)
- Total courses numbered 300 and above (need a total of 48 credits, including 42 in Science; can include 6 from outside the Faculty of Science)
- Total courses that have Arts credit (need 18 credits)
- Courses specifically named in the Calendar description for Enviro Sci (have to take them, not on list 6)
- Courses in your Area of Concentration
Put the totals at the bottom of each list. Courses can appear on more than one list unless stated otherwise. If you meet the numbers needed in lists 1-4 and have all the required courses (lists 5, 6), you'll graduate.
If you send us your lists, we'll check them for you. After that, you should ask Science Advising to have a look (the lists are supposed to include Faculty of Science requirements, so just to be sure).
Major
To help you plan your Major program, make the following seven lists of courses:
- Total courses (need 123 credits)
- Total courses that have Science credit (need 72 credits) (check the Calendar, e.g., can't include some GEOG, EOSC... courses)
- Total courses numbered 300 and above (need a total of 48 credits, including at least 30 in Science; remaining 18 credits must include 6 in Science or Arts, and may include 12 in any faculty)
- Total courses that have Arts credit (need 18 credits)
- Courses specifically named in the Calendar description for Enviro Sci (have to take them, not on list 6)
- Courses in your 'Area of Concentration' (AOC)
- Courses for breadth (outside the field of your AOC) (need 9 credits of Science or Arts electives, not on lists 4-6)
Put the totals at the bottom of each list. Courses can appear on more than one list unless stated otherwise. If you meet the numbers needed in lists 1-4, 7 and have all the required courses (lists 5-6), you'll graduate.
If you send us your lists, we'll check them for you. After that, you should ask Science Advising to have a look (the lists are supposed to include Faculty of Science requirements, so just to be sure).
